The role of bots and trolls in playing the negative buzz in Tanishq advertisement.
Trolls
and bots were the primary players in creating the negative buzz in the Tanishq
advertisement, that sided with a particular ideology or propaganda of the country.
They were (I suppose) communicated to come up and tweet about the particular
issue with that specific hashtag. We can’t deny there is 1 % who believed in
it. But rest are trolls, bot, some of which are even on the payroll of that
certain sector of society who gets benefitted through this. If you visit a
random account who was tweeting about it, you would find fake names, no photo
of the account, strange bio or that supports one ideology. They used to show
similar pictures of returning the bought jewellery and of cancelling the wish
listed jewellery. They retweeted each other’s posts. They were displaying
sensitive information from random places, that suits their agenda. The entire
scene was relying on trolls for that matter.
