Technology – A diverse yet unified sector

 

What comes to your mind when you hear the word Technology as a sector? I had an impression that the IT companies are the only ones that comprise that. But wait, that isn’t true. Technology has been broadly divided between consumer tech and enterprise tech. Some tech companies like Google are serving both customers and the enterprise. There has been the influence or impact of tech in all the sectors. These have come out as independent sectors and now, technology is a really umbrella term, under which these all fall. Let me take you to some of them.
You need to remember that the terms such as consumer tech and enterprise tech have been limited and the lines between them have blurred. For when we talk of Ed-tech as a sector. It is bought by institutions and students which makes it enterprise tech and consumer technology both. Some of the new grown sector and their users are as follows.
Fin-tech – Financial technology caters to the Banking and Insurance sector. Improvements such as tap and pay, fingerprint payment technologies fall under this.
Ed-Tech – Education tech refers to applications such as Zoom and Google Classroom for institutions. It also includes Byju’s and Vedantu. The smart classroom systems are also a part of these.
Auto-Tech – This includes cars and trucks have started getting remote-driven technology. Cars like Tesla have autopilot. Self-Driving cars also fall under this sector.
Industry Tech – Most of the industries or companies require specialised software for most of the functions. From taking attendance to the intranet, there are many functions to it. It is mostly tailor-made for each client.
Retail and consumer Tech – From online shopping websites and applications to ordering food, various technologies are used in it. The most amazing one being the Amazon auto check out tray.
