Free and cheap internet data and its negative impact.

If you get something for free, you will not value the thing right(mostly). That is a human tendency. Of course, not applicable to all, but the majority. When Jio announced a 4G sim that gave out free data, that disruption was very successful. People who had access to limited data bought it. But people who never had, also were present in large numbers to collect the sim from the Jio counter.

The impact was drastic. It served Jio’s purpose to gather a customer base, which after the second quarter of 2020 was 405 million (according to the company’s reports).
There were a huge number of these who were first-time internet users. Most of the new users started coming on social media. Instagram and Facebook saw an increase. They later came on Twitter as well. We are obsessed with movies and the film industry. Tik Tok has been installed by many for showing their dancing and acting skills. But some people have gone way beyond to do that, putting their life at risk.

While all of these don’t like an issue, but it is one. The unemployed youth considered this as a part of their lives. Their money and time went into this. Even some lost their life for these and some stupid competitions on it. They have been hooked to social media, thanks to the algorithm and a lot of data to make sure one doesn’t care for it. People have become addicted to these and even though they are supposed to take care of that, the availability is just facilitating their damage. And in return making sure that the individual, to satisfy his cravings for social media stays on the network, while the price is going to increase.

There is a lot of data that is sent out to operators and applications as well. A lot of our country doesn’t even check which application is asking for which permission. They know what a region thinks.
The foul language being used at women has increased. The spread of hatred has become very faster. On the other side, if one doesn’t live up to these fake standards of social media, he ends up being sad and throws his anger on people around him.

There is no denying that it has been beneficial to a lot of people. But looking at the kind of country we grow up in, we certainly have more stupid’s than wise men. They will not only risk their future and their life but also endanger others.
